About this site
The Center for Topology, Algebra, and their Applications (CTA^2) is based at the Mathematics Department of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Topology and algebra are fundamental mathematical branches, which at the same time provide powerful languages that describe our world. The center’s activities lie at the heart of this interplay. We perform fundamental mathematical research, develop computational methods for real-world applications, and study new mathematical structures that arise from these efforts.
The Center nurtures an inclusive, international scientific network, with a strong drive towards open and collaborative research.
This website collects our initiatives, which include seminars, teaching, workshops, research projects, and scientific output.
The Center is located on the 9th floor of the NU building, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, De Boelelaan 1111, 1081 HV Amsterdam.
